Yamagata Film Festival
Yamagata Film Festival of Brigham Young University Hawaii is found by the Yamagatas, who sponsor students around the world for years by Yamagata Scholarship. The Film Festival is based on the spirit of the Yamagatas, and purpose of the activity is aim at spreading out the information of the scholarship to students for more opportunities.
The students, who went on internships funded by the Yamagata Foundation, debuted short films they made in order to thank the Yamagatas and show what they did, while also contending for awards, enjoying pizza, drinks, and a raffle.
The full house of attendees included those who had done internships with the Yamagatas, those who were supporting their friends, and those wishing to learn about the Yamagata foundation for their potential internships.

The Design idea of the poster and icon for 2017 Yamagata Film Festival is based on the concept of globalization. People around the world connect to each other more and more through the internet as well as many medias today. The idea of global connection just matches the spirit of the Yamagata foundation.
